the k&n is an oilless filter, just wash it out and reuse it. the one i got for my car is the same way no oiling. ive had that for 3 years now and its still like new.

greasing the seal should help with the dust getting past and into the box. it was fine dust , none would be better.

the paper filter was a concern for me as it will get wet, just a matter of time, and having the filter suck into the box and such would be a bitch.
