I ran into the same problem as Chucho. I barely had the bike for 1 hr and I was already finding problems in the Chinese craftsmanship! Going through the thread I learned why tolerances aren't as closely observed on this part of the bike. I'm hoping this is the only place. Anyways I ended up mushrooming one end of the pin with the C clip still on. Once it was mushroomed enough I removed the C-clip and bashed the pin further till I was able to get a C-clip onto the other side. That sucker ain't going nowhere.
