the trick is to keep your weight above the bikes centre line &
weight the out side foot peg.... when your weight is below the bikes centre line
( road bike style) your weight is then pushing the rear wheel side ways instead
of into the surface... then the rear wheel can take off side ways with out any control..
yer I'm not the greatest in soft sand... not riden it alot.. no sand dune type
areas here...
