I've definitely found that I have to get adjusted to the heat. I'm in Utah now but spent a couple of years in a semi-tropical climate in Central America. Once you spend a few (or several) days in it without relief, most bodies adapt. It's pretty miserable for those days, but if you stay hydrated, it turns out fine.

I knew some soldiers who served in Afghanistan and Iraq who got hypothermia... at 70 degrees F. They had gotten so used to the 130 degree temps out in the sun in full gear that they had to sleep in 0 degree rated mummy bags when the temp dropped below 90. The human body is amazing!
