I used to live near a town that was widely known as a speed trap. It was a small town and did not have a court house so they would hold court in the firehall. This went on for many years until they got the wrong person in their court. A defendant brought in a very sharp lawyer who noticed a Kegmeister beer cooler setting in the corner of the firehall / court room. It seems there was an old law still on the books that court could not be held in a building where alcohol was served.
The case dismissed and many more to boot.
They still hold court in the fire hall the keg cooler was moved though
