I had to carefully predrill some 2mm holes for the screws to bite, 1 was enough.
used 2000grit wetdry to clean the shaft and cut a milk jug to make a plastic sleeve/collar and slide the new seal down, pulled out the sleeve then tapped it home with some sockets and a 1/4" socket extension.
