If the choke lever is all the way up that is full choke = no air just gas. Lever all the way down=open air and gas flow. The middel posision just cuts the air a little bit. On full choke with no air flow that is why it dies or runs crappy.

Ohh okay, hints the word choke. So it's normal for the bike to die out with choke on?
