I would guess one or both of your valves is tight. When the bike is cold, the valve can seat because the stem is just a tiny bit shorter than when it is hot. Once it's hot, you are probably losing too much compression due to the leaking valve to kickstart it. The electric starter spins the engine faster and allows it to start.
Adjust your valve lash and you should be good to go.
