It must be the exhaust. The oddest thing is that the hole is in the exact same spot on all 3 pairs of pants. Just above the hem on the vertical seam, about ankle height. I couldn't envision how that spot would get tight on the exhaust behind the frame tubes but it must.

Let's just chalk this up as another senior moment. My bad.
