Based on that all of us should have the same starting sequence for the exact same model of bike built the exact same year. If we are all different then something funny is going on.

N being 1992/2022/2052 etc.

Edit: I found an online check digit calculator at NHTSA, I ran my VIN through and the check digit on my VIN is correct:
