GUESS that they find the stock suspension WAY too soft to support their weight while using up half (or more?) of the suspension travel.
Fixing that too-soft suspension (for your weight) gets $pricey$; depending on how far (think adjustability, if you're replacing it) one goes with the fix, it can run up to $2,000 ... which puts their investment in quite a different price bracket, compared to alternatives.
For instance, if you saw your $6,100 CRF300 Rally costing $8,100, what alternatives would you start considering?
