I'm lacing an old DID aluminum rim to the rear wheel to ditch the rusty chrome crap. I'm using an identical rim for the front, so it will have 4.00-18 trials tires front and rear. To make that happen, I bought a CJ360T front hub, which has a very cool dual leading shoe drum brake. I also bought fresh spokes for the front.


One rims had a crack where the rims were originally spliced together at the factory. My buddy TIG welded the crack for me, then I ground the welds down and brushed the aluminum. Here's the result:
