I agree that the gearbox is too tight. Playing with the front or rear sprocket only shift that tightness up or down; a lower 1st, or a taller 5th/6th would be great. But that's sort of a "nonfixable" issue to me. I'm back to (kinda *) stock gearing 14/44, and limit my cruise speed to 110km/h (about 70mh?) comes winds, steep road or whatever.
The lightning issue I fixed with a HID proyector lens inside the headlight. I guess there's a legallity issue with this in USA, but the improvement over any other light source is huge, and if properly adjusted I don't see why it wouldn't met DOT standars or whatever. Low beam top cut is sharp, so no oncoming driver blinding, and light intensity and pattern spread are what it should have always be.

* "kinda" because I'm using a 120/90/17 rear tire and that's a little bit taller than the original 130/70/17.
