I've only experienced gelling once and it was in my '98 Cavalier. I did a vinegar flush and it really pulled the goop out. It also brought out a lot of rust that the dexcool was supposed to prevent.
The car still runs great and I am fortunate to not have any issues after ridding the car of the dexkill.
