My cute little Chinese girlfriend and I were passed by a speeding semi, turbulence raised us about 6 feet off the ground, turned us upside down, and according to witnesses we landed on helmet, windshield, mirrors, and Tourfella top box, at 65mph on concrete. After 5 days in a coma had to order a replacement set to replace the side box that was hit by a car. The top box the bike landed on is still on the bike, water tight, and functions perfectly. The Tourfellas are awesome quality, well engineered.

However, the right side box rack is offset to clear the muffler, the left side box rack is not. This lends a lopsided look that bothered my so I added a matching offset to the left side and built a locking aluminum toolbox to fit the space. This is convenient for dropping the luggage and still carrying adequate parts and tools for trailside repairs. The slightly wider placement adds significant stability to dirty laundry packed in canoe bags bungied atop the side boxes.
