Cold starts are a PITA to get it to idle. On choke, cold start, doesn't want to idle by itself without partial throttle help. Once warm, it idled fine off choke. But when it's cold, I can mess with the idle screw to get it to idle without throttle, but the rpms jump once warmed, and I have to mess with the idle screw to lower it down. Thinking maybe the bigger jet or new carb might help elevate this problem.
Thoughts?

Try a larger main jet. Sounds like your running lean.
