if i recall correctly the threaded rod is roughly 3 3/4 inches long. i just kinda eyeballed it a 1/4 inch shorter than the tank tunnel is wide. the nuts i used (18mm flange nuts on an m12 rod...welll...bolt with the head cut off...free hardware leftovers from work...LOL) were large enough that the pucks slip fit right on the nuts, as they are somewhat soft rubber, and conformed over the nut's shape.
