We are thinking alike. I was looking at this stuff last nite. My best choices so far. Spend several hrs comparing and studying (wasting time, need to just buy it so it will force me to just do it)

Haven't decided on a mattress yet because I would probably just use my big twin size inflatable one (takes me forever to fall asleep so I will need to be comfortable no matter how much room it takes up)

Like you say, might try a few trial nights on the ranch here before flight. Just don't let the deer and owls scare the crap out of you at nite
you may even have black bear up where you are?
This stuff is kind of hard to buy on line since you can't see how large it is. Most back pack grade stuff will stow away easy for mc transport but mabey it's nice to have a 2 man tent such I was looking at. Just may be larger to pack.
