A bit further along, as well as my splitting sinus headache would allow, anyway.. Measure twice, cut once. Double checked the timing first and it was a tad off. Now, as good as it's going to get. Started removing old wires and running new ones. Manual says to remove both blue and white wires to the high voltage coils as they won't be used anymore. Only problem is that the wires are fabric wrapped. After nearly 40 years of soaking in motor oil, all the wires are brown.
Need to do some ringing before I do any cutting.
With some luck, there will be exhaust smoke before Friday.
