What bothers me about that question is the fact that one should not outride your lights at night.

What speed are you considering? What hazards are anticipated (e.g. objects laying on the pavement vs. deer running across road)? How much oncoming traffic?

But personally I would probably go with a mix of at least one spot pointed where I'm aimed and then 60 degree or broader to illuminate wild life.

Keep in mind that the CSC spec'd Cyclone has a 300 watt alternator, so you have plenty of power available.

I wonder if I can get one of those Mars lights that are on the front of locomotives?
