I live at 9,200'. I've been riding the bike (Only 500 miles so far) from home up to about 11,500' and down to town at 6,000'. A good bit of that on Forest Service roads.

So far I am happy with the how things work stock. I agree that a 13 tooth CS sprocket would probably make for better response on steep trails at lower speeds.
