i will for sure start a new thread for the tear down and paint. im sure lots of people would be interested in following it!
i have had another issue with my bike today, i went to start it (kick start) and i noticed that my Electric start was trying to engage while doing so. but the really weird thing is my electric start is not even hooked up, the positive and negative wires are not attached to the bike (electric starter clutch is toast) so the kick start is my only method of getting it to start and i just found it extremely odd that everytime i kick it, the starter motor makes noise like its spinning. makes no sense at all
