What kits did you buy?
Be very careful with the vacuum sliders, a slight nick in the polished surfaces will cause a problem, as will a bent or nicked needle.
BTW There are no Phillips screws on Japanese motorcycles, only JIS. Problems arise when Phillips screwdrivers are used on JIS screws.
