I am currently messing with a new carb and intake on my own project. I was just curious if anyone knows. What is the purpose of the plastic spacer that goes between the carb and intake pipe? I believe it is called an isolation gasket or something like that. Why doesn't the carb bolt to the intake pipe with a paper gasket just like the intake pipe bolts to the head with a paper gasket?
