I have 2 Hellcats and both had running issues...

I have 2 Hellcats and both had running issues from the factory. Here are some items I had to fix.


Valve lash
Stator connector pins not seated causing intermittent spark.

Check for good flowing fuel. On mine the fuel line makes a 180 out of the tank and with the low quality tubing was somewhat kinked. And check tank vent hose for same.

Add plastic washers when reassembling to prevent plastics from cracking. I have a thread discussing it.

I have 2 Hellcats. Rejetted and adjusted stock carbs per Motocheez you tube video. Both now start very easily (full choke cold) and perform much better overall. I also run 17T counter sprocket.

Did some reconstruction of stock plastic with JB weld. Also took a Dremel to screw/bolt holes that weren't aligned with frame mounting points.

Hopefully plastics stop disinigrating.

I have 2 Hellcats. Used 90 and 92 mains just because was what came in kit, drilled plugs, adjusted mixtures, and didn't change needles because lazy.


Agreed what a wake up using the stock...

If you want to dig, I would just remove fuel line from carb and check for good flow. If spitting check tank...

I have 2 Hellcats. Essentially same bike as the Vader. Only performance mod is a 17t front sprocket. I did get better performance after cleaning stock carbs and as they break in.

Maybe check pins/sockets are seated in stator connectors. Jiggling wiring could have broken a connection.

I had unseated pins from the factory.

Choke is off when forward towards front wheel. I never use on both of mine either.


I did see the flap does close almost completely when engaged and mine will bog with on.
