New Hawk 250 rear axle and nut stripped from factory.

After 109 miles I needed to ajust chain. Loosening the rear axle nut was difficult and upon tightening would not tighten. Initial response from dealer is to sell me a replacement axle and nut for $35...

2016 Texas Hawk

Simple upgrades including fine tuning intake/exhaust and sprockets. I chose to go without tank moldings and removed side cover decals.

You're top end speed will stiil be governed by the transmission. After tuning the engine with carb jetting, high flow intake and exhaust, the only cheap and practical transmission remedy for top end...

I purchased the flux core wire feed welder. Works well for the price and my welding inexperience.

Uni brand air filter 42mm and crankcase vent 1/2" pipe fitting. I removed stock airbox, cat and and stock muffler and slipped on a 23" glasspack.

Catgut complete and removed the exhaust clamp. I bought a $100, 90 amp welder from harbor freight and did the welds myself. The welds are'nt pretty but fuctional with no leaks.
