Just make sure you are adjusting it properly. Do not tighten it. Adjust it. If you will notice as the suspension compresses, the chain gets tighter as the swing arm gets level with the counter shaft...

Mine is a 2017 and it has a 530 chain. Just clean it and oil it. I still have my original chain. It has been through everything you can think of.

Some people carry a little stick/brace. It fits up under the swing arm on the opposite side of the kickstand. They go by several names. Lift stick, moto jack, pocket lift, snap lift.

If you did the valve clearance correctly, a happy engine is a tappy engine. I recomend you wear ear plugs. Without the plugs my apollo sounds like a bucket of loose parts rattling around in a bucket....
