and maybe a can up lanolin rust inhibiting spray..or other rust preventative coating of choice....

are you sure replacing a rim will be any cheaper than just getting a new back wheel? by the time you strip down and re lace the new rim and tune it you could be in deeper then a new wheel.

is the leak impacting the oil level significantly and or causing smoke/burnoff...If not it can be 'lived with' for a while...

No harm in replacing the head gasket/oil feed o'ring as you don't have...
