Would be a real advantage to have little tiny...

Would be a real advantage to have little tiny hands for that job, even with the carbs out of the way. Sure will be nice to have a reliable ignition system.

First I've heard of the Rae-San kit. Sounds like a better system than the Ignitech. Too bad the transistorized ignition from the GL won't fit the CX, it's a good system.

I've wondered if lowering the electrical demand can damage the VR since the old type VR basically turns any unused power into heat. If the lights draw less power, the VR runs hotter.

Be very careful with the vacuum sliders, a slight nick in the polished surfaces will cause a problem, as will a bent or nicked needle.

BTW There are no Phillips screws...

I considered that on my Alaska trip last summer because of the many miles of gravel road. My solution was to wrap a piece of metal flashing around the filter and hold it in place with a hose clamp....
