Everything's in bits awaiting the new seals, no big surprises and no special tool required. Before you remove the forks from the bike slacken the top cap and the bolt at the bottom several turns....

The rear sprocket is a JTS 269** most people use a 17/44 combination for road use. A 44 tooth rear is a Honda XL100 SA/SZ '78-'80.

Having had gearboxes apart and changed a 6 speed for a 5 speed box,it should be possible. It would be easier to swap motors complete. If you've good mechanical skills read on, find exploded diagrams...

The motor in my Hongdou has finally given up the ghost, so as a quick fix I've been down the breakers and bought a 125 motor. Using the same 17/42 sprocket combination as the 223cc motor it struggles...

OHC owners beware!

I checked my valve clearances today (15k miles), I found they'd closed up to near zero. Last checked and adjusted at 7.5k miles.
