125 Pit Bike Chain Slider

I found a chain slider at Two Brothers racing that, once modified, is ideal for my son's 125 Dirt Bike (see http://www.twobros.com/cgi-bin/shopp...&key=010-6-45S ). The slider is designed for a swingarm that has parallel arms at the pivot bolt and then flares out to the wheel width. The Gio swingarm is parallel for a greater distance, requiring some tweaking to the chain slider.

I marked the slider to determine the area to be cut away, sectioned it with a utility knife, and plastic welded it back together. I used an old soldering iron for heat and the removed pieces for filler; it worked great. Upon letting it cool, I hit it with a flap disc on an angle grinder to smooth it out.

What make this slider ideal is the hard material and the horizontal screw that secures it. Other designs have screws in the top; despite the screws being countersunk, the chain eventually eats them.

Check out the pic.
