Does anyone have any thoughts or information on these guys?

http://www.motorcycles.pro/

I see a large selection of bikes that are a bit high priced compared to other places, but they also have a "price match", so that may not be an issue.

What are your thoughts?

At least they put a little money into there site! Most of these guys barely have a power point presentation.....

Well, I can tell you that the Youtube vids for the GY-5 were all from a member here (SheaDouglas) that hasn't been around in awhile, not sure if permission was granted or not? Guess not if it's Youtube, pretty much public domain, not sure how that works for advertising? Prices could be better but they have a nice site...

Shea bought his bike from Tom at RPM.

Well that's interesting. I'm not sure of the legalities of that either, but I would guess the member might want to know. Maybe they'll give him a free hat or something.

The site does look pretty good, but what really gets my attention is the brand selection. From Honda's and Harley's to Lifan's and Zongshen's. From Japan, China, Korea the US and where else? I don't think I've ever seen as many manufacturers in one place before, outside of the cycle show.

And then there's the location. I couldn't find a physical address. I didn't dig too deep, but most places make their address easy to find....so I began to wonder if they dropship only.

It's really difficult to keep up with all the different sites that sell these bikes. 8O
And I wouldn't care if not for the fact that I still want a cruiser. The LF400 would work, if the price was a little more attractive.

Looks like they are on Beltline Rd in Irving. I'm in need of a rear sprocket so I might go take a look tomorrow morning.

They were using some of my Youtube videos for the LF200-III, but it was a TMS version and not an American Lifan.

But if you put something on Youtube it can be used by anyone, that is the deal if you open it up to be embedded, I just thought it was funny they were advetising a TMS 200

Feel free to share your thoughts if you made it by there this morning. :)

Just got back from their store. It is on Beltline Rd in Irving. They had several bikes in stock. lots of street bikes. Not sure if they stock parts or not. They are suposed to find out about the sprocket that I need. Said they would have it in a couple of days. No guess on the price though.

ambassador 04-26-2008 08:19 PM

I wonder if they would drop ship me an $18,000 Harley, it looks like they would? I guess if you have the money anything is possible...

SpeedSouth 04-26-2008 08:19 PM

Sounds pretty good. Nice to know they have some stock...hopefully that means they will want to maintain a good reputation.

If you don't mind, let us know how it goes with the sprocket. Do they offer the price match on the sprocket as well? :)

Thanks for for the firsthand input.

I did not see any Harleys while I was there but honestly I could have missed them. The place was full of bikes. They did have 3 Lifan 200 GY5's. I did not attemp to pin him down to a number but he did indicate he would sell for less in the crate for a do-it-yourselfer.
They are more of a full service dealer that expects the cust. to return when service or repairs are needed. That would explain the somewhat higher price than a typical internet drop shipper.

Could I ask a favor? I'm really wondering what the price of a Hyosung GT250R is. The website dosen't seem to load when I try to get the price list.
I'm really wondering about the GT, and am curious about the Comet naked bike.
The local Kawasaki shop sells the UM version of the GT, but absolutely refused to budge from the $3700 price they were asking.

Cal25 04-26-2008 09:59 PM

If they get me a sprocket, I will make sure to ask

CRidin 04-26-2008 10:06 PM

Good luck on the sprocket. I made the 45 mile trip and the guy wouldnt even go look for it. He said and I quote " You try maybe different online parts you maybe get it there". I called hooper.
