Question about clutch perch spacers

Hi gang,

2004 Quian Maxfine 150 here, been replacing some broken parts over the summer. My sister-in-law bought me a clutch perch off eBay, but it's a bit too large for the handlebars. (Haven't taken any exact measurements.)

I don't want to ask her to return it if I can come up with a decent fix. Right now I wrapped some Gorilla Tape around the handlebar to fill the gap, but the tape still moves and it's not the right fix.

I've been looking at clutch perch spacers online but I'm not sure those will solve the problem, do you guys know of any tricks to secure a perch to a slightly smaller handlebar?

All handle bars are the same size 22mm... apart from some HD bars..

how lose is it with the tape.... i have my levers just tight enough to
stay where I put them.... so they can turn if they get hit in a fall...

you could shim them with tin foil or a bit off a soft drink can...

Foil! I kept thinking of something metal but somehow never thought of that. I will give it a shot. Thanks.
