Tenere 700

Milan motorcycle show just announced the tenere 700 is still just a prototype

Hopefully by the time that the 2019 model year rolls around, we will still be interested in the Ténéré 700 and its “long hello” to the motorcycling public.

My sentiments exactly. Been waiting a frikin year, reading, waiting for the next report only to find this today

the XT660Z Tenere / XT660R / XT660X took 4 years....
Every one said they were still a year away... the next minute
they were on the show room floor.... well everywhere but the US
for some reason...

when it dose arrive it's not going to be cheap.... yamaha's are usaly
the most exspenive of the jap brands...
Suzuki DR 650 $9,000..
Kawasaki KLR 650 $8,500...
Yamaha XT660R $13,000..
Yamaha XT660Z Tenere $16,000..

So start saving your pennys you are going to need them in bulk...

I hope they get rid of the twin disc front brake...
yer don't need 2 bloody discs on a dirt bike.. just weight...

And they can get rid of those silly blue rims..They will look
real flash after a few tyre changes...

but I surpose it all appeals to all the bling jockys that
would rarther pose than ride any where they might
get dirty..
after all that seems to be the main market these days...
bloody wantabe's & posers...

The Tenere riders I know locally are pretty into all-weather all-terrain japes, which I think is cool, but your description definitely fits the upmarket ADV segment here. BMWs and KTM < 1000cc bikes are Starbucks cruisers. They're never dirty.

I'm not even a poser and never will be. Nor will be near the experiences you have had in the field:tup:. I agree with ya. I can tell from all my reading about this bike that is is not the usual bling being produced. Should have real credibility for the on off road ability. Probably more than I need but I'm thinking about something future proof. I was imagining around th 12 to 13 k USD range. Beyond that, I need a new profession. This all your fault pete for turning me on to the tenere. :p

Before I bought my XT660R i had a couple rides on a XT660Z tenere..
it was quite heavy a 209kgs and alot of that weight is carryed high up
so it felt even heavyer...
then I rode the XT660R... sold... only 180kgs weight carryed a lot lower..
