TaoTao TForce Vibration Issue

I purchased a tForce ATV about 2 months ago for my son. I have just started opening the throttle more and I have notice that at a certain RPM, the ATV vibrates severely. I have checked the timing, checked the motor mounts, checked the exhaust and exhaust mount and I am not able to figure out what is causing the vibration. It happens when in neutral as well so you don't have to be moving to get the vibration. Also, if you rev the engine higher, the vibration lessens, it is only at a certain RPM that you get the severe vibration. The vibration is so much, it is difficult to hold onto the handlebars.

Has anyone experienced this, or is this normal with the China ATVs?

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I would suggest loosening and re-torquing all of the motor mounts for starters. They should be around 18-25 ft lbs, depending on bolt shank size. I have yet to buy a CB that has been consistent on its motor mounts.

A little Loctite on those bolts is also a good idea. Once you get them where you need them to be, it's nice if they remain there.

Since you have already checked for loose mounts...it sounds like something may be out of balance internally. What engine is installed on the tForce?

Usually it's the plastic body parts vibrating.

Would that make a difference on the vibrating if it was too tight?

It is the 125 cc engine. To me it seems like something internally as well, but I have no idea.

Usually it's because they're either loose or uneven. Some too tight, some loose.

I use rubber plumbing washers as insulators between the plastic and the frame.

Exactly! Super cheap and readily available at Home Depot.
If you and I were neighbors, it'd be dangerous.... ;-)

I don't think it is the plastic because it vibrates the handlebars so much it is difficult to hang on to them. Would plastic pets make it vibrate that much?

Makes sense. I can try and see if that will fix it, just have to pickup a torq wrench

Not a quad guy but you are getting some responses by the best China Riders who would know. Could you safely record this vibration on a quiet stretch of blacktop? The question in my mind is, how much vibration?

I really appreciate everyone's ideas!

I can record it easily because I don't have to be moving for it to vibrate. It does it while revving in neutral. I will try and post it later today.
