Midnight Shadow
In May 2016 I suddenly turned 55.....
There had to be something special as a birthday present. Since my Sister and Father would rather stick to conventional gifts (like socks or a nice checquered tie...) ....I decided it was time for the Midnight Shadow. (2005 / Honda VT750 Shadow RC50 ) Somewhere in Bad Kissingen county (Happens to be the hometown of Henry Kissinger.. btw) http://up.picr.de/26070954ps.jpg http://up.picr.de/26070967ii.jpg I already installed an LSL Butterfly Bar and a small rack for my luggage roll. http://up.picr.de/26070957cn.jpg http://up.picr.de/26070958er.jpg I will change the headlight too, since Honda decided to do a menacing design experiment,as a standard one, on the RC50. Let some good times roll! |
That is one "Bad" black bike.
Wunderschön |
Modification #3
Next thing i did was to interchange the original (bulge) Headlight for a "traditional" design.

The The turn indicator relais is located within the Headlight and originally is protected against vibrations, by a rubber mount. I thought it would work also by just "cram" it behind the reflector (at least for a day or two...) I fried it..or shaked it to death within an hour or two. Have to replace it asap. This time, taking care of a proper place and mount. |
Ooops! Strange place for a relais. Couldn t you just mount it somewhere else altogether, in a rubber mount. Are you going to replace those indicators as well?
Nice bike for touring, you could go to Sweden on it! |
The replacement relay is still inside the headlight housing., this time protected by some rubberfoam.
It works alright. The Indicators will stay. Besides that i´m always willing to start experiments.. like riding exotic Motorcycles..i´m pretty conventional if it comes to design matters. In fact, i think, the original indikators add positively to the Bike. |
Beautiful bike. Very classy and clean. Those Shadows ride very nice and are very good in the turns also. Enjoy!

Lovely machine! I hope we see many pics from you as you travel Europe.
