What about exhausts, Is there anything bolt on?

Tell me about your Lithium battery????

someone on here posted that this is a perfect fit for the stock battery.

less than 2 pounds so should be a pretty good weight savings. Not cheap but besides the exhaust probably the biggest weight savings I am going to find in a single component.

I think it's due to 'overcharging' on most motorcycles*... if you find a way to keep the volts from 'spiking' (?going over 14.x volts?) I'm sure those Lithium Ion batteries will work just fine once the charging system is 'fixed'.

*I have seen the same thing happen when people put those Lithium Ion batteries on a normal battery charger, they overcharge and melt them is my thinking

You are probably correct. Maybe I will see how dirty the stator is/how good the rectifier is. I work with electronics so I could easily build something to clean it up and regulate it better.

As Ed McMahon would say , you are correct sir (warning old fart content)

I have one of those 12 volt USB plugs which displays ambient temp (Celsius ),USB amp draw, and system voltage. Upon high speed rides (55mph haha), it regularly displays 14.x vdc. Not good for lithium.

AGM (gel cell) supposed to be superior for rough conditions

Yup! Saw 14.6 on mine today!

AH refers to the storage capacity. I think you are referring to CA or cranking amps

pcspecialist 05-16-2016 12:27 AM

typically, capacity and cranking amps go hand in hand. AGM can put out a bit more than flooded because of the matting between plates keeping them from warping, but, not a whole lot more.

w0ss 05-16-2016 12:30 AM

I bought one of those usb plugs that has a voltage display. If I see 14.6 I will build something to limit it.

Yes haven't seen AH expressed on 12 vdc automotive bat, usually shows CCA (cold crank amps) as the main indicator of what you are buying.
