Chain Tensioner Spring Loaded Roller
 

Do any of you guys have a spring loaded roller tensioner on your bikes? Do you see any immediate benefits? Does this type of tensioner take the place of adjusting the chain tension with the adjusters at the back of the swing arm?

I have posted before I have a problem with my chain it has loose and tight spots as the wheel turns. When I adjust to the correct tension at the tightest point in the chain the loose part is too loose and the chain flops around some. All of my Googling is telling me this is a pretty common problem and all bikes will have this issue to some degree because of manufacturing tolerances. Well of course on my China bike tolerances are a little lax. I am hoping installing one of these chain tensioners will alleviate the loose flopping chain.

Forgive to me , just adding color of my post for this topic, not spring roller but have a chain guide slider have my bike , sm mode remove, because fabrica sett chasis only for 51 big rear sprocket setting, sm mode i use 40 rear, and problem friction chain.



This link material , can not seeing my eyes safety / insecure , before i faitful my moto owner manual for adjust chain tension , but my experience said manual to cant trust.



Now, if i want chain tension adjust every time , i always check while on seat moto my weight factor , i check my foot/heel ,chain if played 1-1.5 cm setting is ok forme.

Wondering , chain guide whats work i search , before my mind said maybe mud,wood blocker , it true and bonus is, for human healt , chain + sprocket compresses blocker, isnt cuted a body part (hand or leg, god bless)

Yeh those chain guides look iffy. I haven't seen one of those used in awhile.

However, it may cure the floppy chain but it will not replace the necessity to have the chain adjusted properly, it may well help to off-set the "slack" you have where you describe it as "loose and tight spots"

X2; you will still need to adjust the tension of the drive chain at the rear of the swingarm. ;)

I am on a low cholesterol diet. The stuff I have to spread on my toast tastes like axle grease so I can use that instead.

I'm tempted to buy one.

Who knows, maybe HB can help us find a cheaper version through TB.

My chain tensioner just arrived. Not installed yet but I wanted to post that it is shockingly very heavy duty and appears to be extremely well built. I was truly expecting something kind of chintzy for my money.
