Dragon 3/4 Mini Chopper Project Resurrection

I am going to start working on my mini chopper I have had for 2 years. Life has been busy and I put it off. I am going to strip it and have it repainted as the paint is peeling and doesnt look that good. I will try to post progress. Anyone have any tips on wiring or anything please feel free to share. I am excited to get this road worthy and legal to ride.

If it runs reliably, I wouldn't make any changes to the wiring at this time. Since you're not riding a dual sport, you're not subjecting the harness to much shock (no pun intended).

Looking forward to this build!

It runs good but the wiring I need done is blinkers and tailights to make it legal here in indiana. Not very good with hooking stuff up. It has a headlight but everytime you hit a bump it goes out which I figure is the cheap china wiring.

I bet it's the headlight plug. If you remove the plug from the headlight, you might be able to make the connectors a little tighter, maybe with a small screwdriver.

It would be easiest to install signals by buying a new wiring harness. If you could find a China dual sport harness for cheap, you could extract everything you need for signals, and then substitute signals that suit your chopper.

There are probably two plugs; one at the light (3 prong) and one at the harness. I had trouble with the harness one and eliminated it by connecting the wires before and after the plug. I soldered them to make sure the connections were good.

Gonna start tearing down the chopper today. Have a couple guys offer to sand blast and paint it for me for free. Just wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram for this or close to it. Thanks and stay tuned.

Well she is all stripped down except for the forks

jlbateman333 08-07-2013 02:06 PM

Dropped the seat pan, back fender, and tank off for paint. Just need to drop frame off for sandblasting. It's going to be pwdercoat black. Getting excited

Weldangrind 08-08-2013 12:24 AM

The frame coating will be tough as nails.

jlbateman333 08-08-2013 06:57 AM

Yeah kinda worried about that.

I am trying to access a wiring diagram for this bike on here but every time I click link it takes me back to beginning. Anybody know why?

Weldangrind 08-09-2013 02:32 PM

Yes, it's because of the recent upgrade. Try using the search function, which should take you directly to the page you seek.

Anyone know where I can find a clutch sensor for the Lifan 200cc on this. I've googled and only found 1 place that only sells to dealers. None on ebay
