Honda NC700X
Has anyone seen one yet... not due here for another few months..
I like the sound of the "DCT" 6 speed auto version they say is a real auto..not a CVT belt system.. |
I haven't seen one in person yet, but I like them. Looks like a super practical bike to me and if I was in the market for a new bike I'd give them a look. They were discussed in a thread before, have a peek :)

Yes, I saw the NC700X at the local Honda dealership. It's a nice motorcycle. :D I think Honda is really heading in a good direction with the NC700X and CRF250L motorcycles. ;)
Spud :) |
I find the motor quite interesting...
670cc foward leaning parallel twin only 46hp with a 6500rpm red line & bulk torque... they use the same crank configeration as a Vee twin... sound like a vee... I want to ride one.... |
For 2014 they have a few new models coming out based on the 700cc powerplant as well, the CTX's

I saw and heard one about a month ago driving by. It sounds like a maxi-scooter, like a Burgman or Majesty or something along those lines. Quiet, smooth and bland....
I think it is a good motorcycle and priced to sell. I bet it will be a pleasure to own for those who buy it, and proivide good reliable service and excellent economy. It interests me, however, not in the least. |
Lol :D
I was gonna say that Doc's a big fan but I left it out! ;) |
I love the bike, for other people.

as theres 3 versions of it.. NC700S road bike. NC700X Adventure. NC700 maxi scooter. One base platform that can be 3 totaly diffrent bikes.. thats most lightly why they are such a good prise... still want to ride one... yer know the been there done that sort of thing.. |
That would explain it. A Maxi-scooter in different guises. This commonality of parts would indeed help keep prices down.

I was all set to by one. I narrowed my choices down to the NC and a Kawasaki Versys. I did my homework and decided that I was going to get the NC based on the same reason I bought my XF200; ride it back and forth to work and get 70 mpg. But now I was going to be able to go on the highway and have some wind protection.
A dealer 60 miles from me was selling one for $6399 ($600 below MSRP)for a 2012 model. They also had a 2012 Versys. A local dealer was selling the same NC for $6999 so driving 120 extra miles to save 600 bucks was a no brainer. By the time I got there the NC was sold and they were not sure when they could get another. I sat and on both bikes and they fit me the same so know I have a new Versys sitting in my garage. Now if it would stop raining I could ride the dang thing. |
found this pic on line... the NC700X scubs up quite well
with a few mods... http://imageshack.us/a/img10/4890/nc700x.jpg |
Congratulations on acquiring the new Versys, David. :) Please do start a new thread in our Other Stuff Forum; we would love to learn more about the Versys. :)
