CFR 50 exhaust on Vader 125

Well, I ordered the exhaust off Amazon and it finally arrived today. It's an open pipe and it sounds amazing! Only draw back was I did have to buy heat wrap, other than that I'm happy with it!http://chinariders.net/picture.php?a...pictureid=1036

That looks good! The angle matches the bodywork well. Any performance change?

I haven't really gotten to ride it because of the weather. So far though, the idle is better and it sounds great. Going to give it a run tomorrow if we get more sun than rain..

Looks good!

Thanks, I'm probably going to get black heat wrap. Never used it before and kind of didn't apply it correctly. We live and learn.

Thank you, I can definitely feel a difference in performance with the exhaust! Baby steps!

Cold/windy ride today!

Well, just driving back and forth down my street I could feel a bit more pep in the Vader. Today I took it for a little jaunt around the lake and hit some long straight stretches. Hit 53mph once other than that it stuck around 47. It's windy and cold today so that probably didn't help. Also, the exhaust is damn loud so I'm running with ear plugs from now on..Lol

That's a good baseline for quantifying future performance upgrades. When you have a moment, please show us a pic of your stock intake tube.

This is it for now. I have to take it to a bike shop to replace the rear tire, when I do that I'm going to get a quote on carb installation. Maybe have him check it out all together. After I installed the mikuni it didn't start. With a 115 jet, may have to go with a 125 or something, I'll have to see what I have. Still need a taller intake because the carb is touching the head and I know that's not good. I'll get it worked out soon enough, I know with the right set up it'll get up there as far as top speed is concerned. I might even just get a 17t sprocket, cause with the 16t 1st gear is still pretty much useless, tho it is still better than the stock sprocket. (For some reason I'm not seeing the pic, but it is on my profile page.) picture 7

Have you taken the time to clean the main and slow jets in the Mikuni?

Jrack 05-31-2017 01:35 PM

I haven't gotten to it just yet. Probably get to in this weekend if its nice out. Don't want my kids messing with everything.

How much did it run? Can a mechanic install? Is it loud? If very loud, anyway to see the benefits and minimize the sound?
