Bashan BS300

Interesting site.
See the BS300. I don't know why they have it stuck in with the dirt bikes.
Maybe a DS 300 will debut sometime? :)

Their faq says they will re-label the bikes to your company's name so you can be an OEM.

Sorry about that!

Be your own OEM? Maybe Harley could improve Buell's reputation if they badged these things as Buells.

Is it a thumper? Clean looking. I like that. I'll keep my SV650, though.

300cc street bike that just might do.....add a nice 250 enduro all for around $3000 delivered....hmmm. Any one see pricing info?

dlunt 08-11-2006 07:10 AM

I didn't see any pricing. The iformation seems to indicate that you can get a 1-off sample or you can buy a whole container.

I am always curious how you get the samples and if you could get them titled and licensed.

I'd hate to be the bearer of the "emperor has no clothes" explanation, but did anyone else notice the BS200GY was a rebadged Lifan GY-5 without the "Cool Boy" sticker. Also, all of their bikes have the model designation of BS which is a little too close for confort  ...

dlunt 08-12-2006 10:25 AM

Hey man have you been in the ludes!
Cut the BS!

Actually it is quite different than a GY-5. Frame, fork and swingarm angles. Exhaust routing. Really cool large dual front disks. Rearset foot controls and pasenger pegs.
But the big question is, is the engine really a 300cc based on the name of the bike. And that may be what you were pointing out. It is hard to tell if it is really different.

The bike that is a redressed GY-5 was sitting right next to a GY-5 when I bought mine.
It is the LF200.

They really are close to the same thing.

Anybody else notice that American Lifan has redesigned their site?

(BTW - I love the Spicoli quote in your footer :) )

Why yes, I think I will, thank you...

It was the best driving scene for stoners.

Actually, my drug of choice is beer, and yes, I have learned my lesson (a very mild lesson if you read my "crash" story) and I rarely even drink that, anymore

Thanks for pointing that out. I am a little disappointed to see that they don't have the CT-70 (trailbike) copies anymore. Maybe they had to give in to a cease and desist order like Redcat had to do with their trailbikes?

Were they ever able to get DoT/EPA approval for those. I had one as a kid it was great. Awesome bike to hang off an RV or just a farm runaround bike.

I don't think DOT if you need it for Maine, but I believe EPA they had. I think they were getting hounded by Honda. One of Redcat Motors big sellers was their trailbike in both 70 and 90 cc. Honda issued a cease and desist order to stop selling them, and even though the president of the company felt they had a good chance of winning, it was felt that it wasn't worth the fight. This was sometime earlier this year. I had heard that Lifan was being defiant of the cease orders, but it looks like they caved in.

I thought patents expired after 15 years? It's funny how I used to hate the Chinese way of blatantly copying everthing and now with bikes and scooters I don't. I'm so ashamed
