Good Ole' Swing-Arm Bolt

:hehe:
Seem to be the next guy in line that got a bad bolt.

Took my hawk to the local wash and low and behold notice that my swing arm bolt is not only missing its head but also its bolt. Looks to me like that head sheared right off. I can almost bet money that that puppy was intack when I left the house.

I read a thread from 2016 on hawk250.com where the fellow seemed to have the same exact issue. I was wondering if a genuine Honda CB250 Swing Arm Axle would be any sturdier, or dose the problem lye somewhere in the bearings?

Everything else seems to be perfect though.

BTW I have a oem Swing Arm Bolt on the way from my friends at Ricky Power Sports and TXPowersports.com

First time hearing of this issue on a Hawk. But glad to see RPS and TXPowersports are taking care of business.

Just remember, if you got it for "free"... you just used 1 of your 'Manny' "warranty issues to be fixed" given out by TXPowersports

It seems that unless you have a Youtube Channel... once the replacement parts reach 2 parts or more with the sum of $30 or more... even a day and 2 miles after delivery your warranty is basically out the freaking window :p

No I didnt try and use my warranty. Luckily the part was only $20. Im just glad that sucker didnt fall out. Your boy rode on that 3 miles home. Haha YOLO

The TT250 swing arm axle would have also been an option. Unlike the Hawk unit, which is just a big bolt, the TT250 uses a true axle setup with a nut and washer on each end.

Parts 4, 6, and 7. http://www.cscmotorcycles.com/TT250-...RBER-s/353.htm

Some might say the steel in those bolts are ...like buttah

pcspecialist 03-24-2018 11:02 AM

might as well throw in part 11 while you are at it, the "dustproof caps" on my Hawk are garbage.

Megadan 03-24-2018 04:14 PM

Funny thing is, after 1805 miles on my Hawk, my dust caps are still pristine.

Granted, I had to wipe away a ton of dirty old grease off of them yesterday when re-greasing my swing arm and shock bolts, bushings, etc.

As the saying goes, you can never have too much lube...

Anyone can put here the torque for tightening this swing arm bolt?

Lit Hawk 03-24-2018 07:14 PM

Torque 88nm

Damn, got home from work and noticed same thing happened to me>:(
Anyone know of a replacement swing-arm bolt I can pick up at local Honda dealership?

Tashka 08-31-2018 10:09 PM

They came like that, or did they get sheared off?

Lit Hawk 08-31-2018 10:27 PM

Sheared off, crap steel I guess
