Breather tube length
So... Just how long is the breather tube supposed to be? Because mine seems to dangle a good 3 inches or more out the bottom of the bike. It just looks kind of odd dangling there.

Agreed. I'd leave it alone.

I've had an inch or two of fuel/oil that I've dumped in my break-in.

I think we might be talking about two different vent hoses. ;) The crankcase breather tube is located at the front left side of the engine. It collects excess oil which is vented from the engine. I definitely wouldn't tamper with any of the hoses in that assembly. ;)
However, there is another vent hose which descends behind the swingarm bolt, near the lower shock linkage. I haven't traced it back to its origin, but I think this hose vents the evaporative canister. I believe this is the hose Sprite was inquiring about, and it is the hose I have been discussing. ;) |
Obviously, Sprite, your Cyclone is a male, which would make it a himicane.

Well if it is a he, his bits are at risk for getting abraided if he insists on dangling them so far below the rest of the bike! It's positively indecent, I tell you! |

Nothing wrong if you own a zong with a ding don....... Oh never mind. rj

The center tube is the overflow from the fuel tank fill cap

Inroads, you said you had fuel/oil in your crankcase exhaust tube? Did you ask CSC about it. If so what did they tell you. Also has it happened again? |
I also had 1-2" of oil in crank case vent tube when bike was first new. I called CSC and they said to just take the black plug in the end out and not worry about it and let it vent away. I took the plug out and drilled a 1/16" hole in it and reinstalled it back in the tube end. My reasoning is if I ever got into a water crossing that could reach the tube the plug could stop most of the water from filling the tube but it can still vent ,drain out all the time so I don't see the 1-2" of oil being built up any more. rj

The plug is there so you can retain the oil for safe environmental disposal. You can remove the plug and add the oil from the tube to the dirty oil you collect every time you change the engine oil. ;)
