It no go....

Nice day here 21* summers on the way.... thought I would take the beast for a ride..
After almost flating the battrey I desided there just might be something wrong somewhere
4 hours later & half the bike scattered around the shed I come to the conclusnion
that there is not enough fuel pressure... pump seems to work fine but there seems
to be alot of fuel movement in the tank more than normal from the pressure releif
starting to think there could be a leak in the pump houseing or the pressure releif
is stuck open or the spring has weakened...
need a pressure tester before I pull the pump out should have 48psi at the
injector & 110psi straight off the pump..
If that checks out ok... then it's look to see if the injectors stuck closed
or if it's getting a signal to open also check that the crankshaft sencer
is doing what crankshaft sencers do..

yer just got to love moden shit.......

anyway that stuffed my plan for the day.....

Modern shit, old shit. It all has it's own headaches. After years dealing with both I have come to the simple conclusion that you put in the same amount of work on both, just in different doses. Old shit - carbs, points, glass fuses and all, requires more regular attention, fixing, and tweaking in small amounts over time. New shit - runs and runs for months upon months, even years without a problem, but when something goes wrong you spend what seems like an eternity tracking it down.

Bloody hell....

it goes.... had this idea... i put the red IDing key in
hit the start button & it sat there idleing as if nothing
was ever wrong...
the dam imobiliser had triggered itself some how
or the black key no longer talks to the ignition lock...
so I just have to re-ID the black key...
You are ment to do it every couple years... I have never done it
since i have owned the bike... about 7 years now...

Glad you got it sorted. Also glad I don't have an immobilizer.

Oh boy. Same reason I hate e-stop buttons.

the red IDing key is prob the first thing I should have tryed
instead of spending a week pulling it apart....
