CF650 First Milestone

Just had the 500 mile service done on the CF. No issues and now I can do the stage 2 run in, less than 6000 RPM until 1000 miles then another oil and filter change. Doesn't feel like running in anymore, 5500 RPM is around 85 mph on the road and nearer 6000 RPM puts the bike just over 90 mph.

This is just what the bike has been waiting for, on an open road she would sit happily at 70 to 80 mph all day long and it's comfortable to ride at that pace, not too much in the way of vibes for a twin and still plenty of power left to scoot past traffic as needed. For a naked bike I reckon I could do some serious miles....

Wonderful news.

I have noticed CB's tend to have very conservative break in procedures.

yeah they do. Actually I was chatting to the dealer and he was saying that he has been having a debate with the UK dealer who were trying to tell him the bike needed to be serviced every 1500 miles to maintain warranty! Anyway they saw sense in the end and will honour the warranty based on 4000 mile services

I'm glad to hear the CF650 is performing well for you!

Hi Choldy, have you any update on how the bike is performing since your last update?

Update

Sorry been busy with work so not been on to update. Run in is complete and 1k service sorted. I replaced the exhaust with a scorpion exhaust which tidies up the look of the bike, smooths out the low speed throttle response and sounds glorious:0) apart from that she is running beautifully, extremely reliable and seems to be holding up well cosmetically as she's spent most of the 1500 miles so far in pouring rain!

FastDoc 10-29-2013 05:52 PM

Good to know!

Bummer about the rain though.

Thanks for the update. I'm glad your bike is running well.

Just back on the bike after a 12 month lay off. I've had a bit of coolant leakage, I was going to pick up a set of silicone hoses from eBay, I think I've read somewhere that Kawasaki er6n 08 parts largely fit, has anyone replaced water hoses with kawa parts?

Hi there

I'm a relatively new owner of a 650TR, however, just thought, I'd post this in here ..

Well, I've also got myself a cheap motorcycle sat nav, , however I knew I might have a challenge on my hands fitting one to the CF, due to the handlebars. However, I came across this sat nav mount http://www.st1300-accessories.co.uk/...tnavmount.html . I decided to take a punt on it, as you do, yes not as cheap as I'd have liked, but anyhow. I ordered it on Tuesday evening, and it arrived today, not bad service at all. I also ordered the ram mount at the same time.

Anyhow, it fits perfectly, as if it was designed for the CF650 :-).

Oh yeah, it says out of stock on the website, but that is because he hasn't updated the website.

Anyhow, here are a couple of pics showing it attached.

And with the said cheap sat nav in place

Cheers

Tony

Choldy or Other CFMotor 650 Owners,

Hello and happy new year. It has been a few years since you posted the original post. If you still own the motorcycle, please post your experience with regards to long term reliability. I am looking at a 2012 CFMoto 650TR with 12,000 km or 7500 miles.

Thanks in advance!

David
