ChinaRiders Forums - Economically Riding in DE

Hi guys! I am an avid buyer and seller of vehicles and gas powered toys. It's kind of funny! I went from driving a '98 F800 crew-cab dually with a Cummins diesel and a '97 F350 with a 500hp Powerstroke to a pair of cool little Chinese dual-sport bikes. The best part is, I'm having more fun! I picked up a Shineray 200 dual-sport a month or so ago with 12 km's for $550 with all the documentation, and it was like brand new. I was so happy with it, I got a Locin 125 dual-sport a few days ago. Now this bike I got for $300 and a pair of old chainsaws I got for free. This bike had 35km's on it and was covered in mud. I spent an hour or so pressure washing it and cleaning it, and it looks fantastic. No scratches, chips or broken components. The only thing missing is the mirrors, and it needs a new battery. I have ridden the 125 more, and I'm actually pretty impressed. It moves along great. I've had it up to 85km/hr, but that's too high in the RPM range for anything long term. I plan on resprocketing both of my bikes. For a total investment of $850 and I have two near new bikes, I couldn't be happier. Now, if friends or family come over and want to go for a ride, I have a pair of cheap toys. I've already had a bunch of offers on them from my friends and neighbors, but I think I'll keep them around a little while. I've been layed off since January when my company's contract was cancelled, and I just got hired for a new job that I will start April 1st. I was commuting 1 hour each way, and left the house at 3:30 in the morning. I was spending a big chunk of my paycheck on fuel for the commute. The new job is 6 minutes away from home, and I plan on riding my bikes. A tank of gas should last me quite a while. I was starting to worry, but everything seems to have fallen into place and I couldn't be more glad. I've already read most of the forum posts in regards to my bikes as I am a tech head. I am a small engine mechanic and I like to be well-informed. These forums have always been extremely helpful and convenient. I'm sure questions will come along, an I know right where to come with them.
