Aluminum Panniers $200

Ran across these following a link from another site. The have distributors across Latin America. The closest to you guys looks like Mexico City. They appear to be the same as the top box that came on my RX3 from AKT here in Colombia. The only thing they dont show is a support system for the RX3 (AKT 250 TT here in Colombia). Their support system for other bikes is only about $70 and I am sure they must have one in development. They have a contact for exports. I have noted the info below. Either way this is an amazing price for aluminum panniers even if shipping is $100 or $200 (just guessing). I ship things here to Colombia from USA and the cost is $10 for the first pound and $5 for each additional pound. Im not sure about Colombia to USA I have never done that.

Current exchange is $3321 COP to 1 USD. An incredible time to buy in Colombia. Terrible time for us to be ordering from Amazon

My top case seems well built and very durable. The only thing I am not thrilled with is the lock. It seems cheap and not very durable plus its installed with the key hole facing up so rain water can get directly into it. The little knob surrounding the key hole feels very cheap. My plan was to use it as is and then when needed replace with a much more durable cylinder lock.

Thanks for posting the good inormation, Mike. :) These panniers are a good deal for people living in Latin America. Please do let us know if you discover more about the mounting system for these panniers.

Given the cost of shipping, the Tusk Panniers from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC are probably less expensive for people living in the United States, or Canada.

We have several members from Latin America in our forums, so I am very glad Mike has informed us of the Mastech panniers. I am also eager to learn more regarding the mounting system for the Mastech panniers, which I presume will work with a variety of other luggage. :)

I really like the latch system on the Tusk panniers. Thats definitely the weak spot on the ones here. Probably going to have to make a repair on my top box latch sooner than later. Thanks for the info.
