Welcome! Isn't Motocheez from Conn.? I believe he used the Vermont route to plate his. That being said, unless that process is foolproof and hassle-free (i.e. cops wondering why you have a Connecticut license but a Vermont registered bike), I would consider other options since there are now so many. If the low-cost is the attraction, the Tao TBR7 seems to be dollar for dollar as great a buy and bike as the Hawk. And that one is 49-state EPA/DOT certified as an 'on-highway motorcycle' (Californians need not apply). The Hawk is technically EPA certified as an 'off-road dirtbike' but is plated my many states that will plate off-road bikes that have a minimum of street equipment which the Hawk easily qualifies for since it comes with all street equipment. The Hawk is a loophole in other words, but some states have closed up that hole; Conn. might just be one of them, unless they do allow them to be plated after going through the process of plating off-road bikes? If you have any doubts, look for other options is my suggestion.
