Lifan 200cc engines
 

I'm thinking of ordering a 163FML engine now that they're listed on eBay again. Looks like they're from PCC motors. $399 +$95 shipping. Anyone know of a better price or have feedback on PCC Motors?

As much as I like the Zongketa 200 it's frame is just too small for me to be comfortable. I'll put the new engine in the Lifan then fix the original engine when I find the parts.

If you're ordering anyway, is there a 230 available?

Would have ordered a 230 if I had found one at a reasonable price, but the 200 is sufficient for how the bike is used. Should bolt right in with only the fabrication of a new front mount. It'll be interesting to compare the vibration of the 167FML in the Zongketa with the Lifan 163FML, both without the balance shaft.

Interested in a used 200cc OHV motor (164fml)?

I have a nice motor off an '06 Hi-Bird. It is new-looking, 225 mile (per bike odo), clean oil, no leaks, turns over via kickstarter, has compression via thumb over spark plug hole, told by previous owner engine ran good (I've never heard it run... bike bought in pieces).

Interesting eBay listings on the Lifan 163FML (200cc) engine from PCC Motors. $1400.00 + shipping! My guess is they price the engines at $400.00 until stock runs low then up the price so none sell until the next shipment.

Should be home in a couple 3 weeks to put the new engine in the Lifan. Glad I didn't wait until I got home to order the engine.

I have ordered an engine from PCC with no problems. I see on many of their Ebay listings the same item listed for say $385.00 and their very next listing of the exact same item for $1,385.00. I think it is some sort of mistake in their listing software or they are just fat fingered.

Wish you knew you were looking for an engine--you could have bought my TMEC 200 engine, although that is a Zongshen. I think the TMEC has had a good life, but once I had the accident, it never quite had the fit. I might just throw it on craigslist whole since it does still run and is plated and titled, but since you are nearby for a few more weeks, it might have been convenient to head south and buy it.

Could be but I see that the eBay price goes up by $1000 at the same time the engine listing on their website changes to "out of stock", and eBay shows the price in the original listing was changed by the seller.

The Zongshen engine would have been fine. I do like the one in my Zongketa. Every CG clone engine I've seen by any manufacturer appears to be well made.

Reached 1000 miles on the Lifan CG200 replacement engine, it's running great. I actually like it better than the original balance shaft engine.

Also got the oil pump chain and sprockets for the TT250 engine from CSC today and they appear to be identical to those used in the Lifan. After I install them I'll have a spare engine that will fit either my Lifan 200 or the Taotao quad, though no reverse gear.

Mine hasn't missed a beat in about the same number of miles. I was cruising on a 55mph secondary highway last week with a lot of traffic, and it would easily maintain just north of 60 without being at WOT. I love it.

One other thing I noticed about this new Lifan CG200 engine is the cylinder head is different than the 07 model. It's larger with more fin bracing which somehow quiets some of the valve noise.

When you have time, would be able to show us pics of the two heads for comparison?

Here is the new style head on the Lifan 163FML engine. Slightly larger in size. More fin bracing. I has the heavy cast steel rocker arm assembly rather than the stamped steel type used in some CG engines.
